This presentation addresses a methodologies and the evaluation of new technologies regarding GIS-based asset and infrastructure management; the presentation addresses technical and organizational aspects of increasing efficiency by integrating GIS-based asset, maintenance, and facilities management systems with existing work flow systems.

The main focus of the presentation pertains to managers, field operators, and secretaries involved with public works organizations. Engineers, managers, field operators, secretaries, and directors can all benefit from this presentation as we will demonstrate how everyone can benefit from GIS integration.

Attendees of this session will learn how to integrate GIS with current database systems in order to more efficiently manage their assets and infrastructures. Attendees will learn how to: create and manage service requests, work orders, parts inventories, more efficiently manage daily activities such as phone calls, faxes, and other office tasks, integrate all of this information with GIS maps via asset management software, attach videos, pictures, .pdf's, and other documents to GIS assets on a map. Attendees will also learn about new GIs-based technologies for permits, inspections, licenses, code enforcement, and much more.

The presentation is unique in that we will show attendees how GIS-based asset management can be simple and how everyone can take advantage of GIS technology.
